A Poisoned Meal – Out Now!

I have a new song out! Listen to “A Poisoned Meal” here on your favorite platform:

I have just returned from Harzen, Germany, where my family spend a week walking up and down the mountains. The area seems to have quite the obsession with witches – everything was related to witches. I guess that is quite fitting for my next song which also has a bit of a witchy feel as the protagonist is an immortal fairy queen that seduces and kills young men every midsummer. Her actions fill her with regret and at the same time she is filled with envy of all the life that is just passing her by, while she is frozen in time.

The song is the last in a row of 7 interconnected song where this is the 5th to be released.
If you like bands like Nouvelle Vague and Charlotte Gainsbourg, you will love this song!

Thanks again to Camila Castellani for the amazing vocal, Alex Duarte on wonderful guitar, Francesca Pratt on Drums and Hugo Iglesias on upright bass. And I am also singing in this one – it is almost like a duet 😊

Lyrics:
I stand above his grave
On a path that I did pave
His frail and fragile heart
The veil that keeps us apart

The weak mortal boys
My midsummer toys
They crumble like flowers
Gone within hours

But I must give in
To this mortal sin
Can no one hear me screaming?
I’m stuck in time
This life ain’t mine
Around me life is teeming

Once every year
It’s in my nature, I fear
When I dance with the fireflies
Another youth dies

Love is my curse
In this universe
With dust in my heart
Time set us apart

But I must give in
To this mortal sin
Can no one hear me screaming?
I’m stuck in time
This life ain’t mine
Around me life is teeming

I’m tired and old
My lovers leave me cold
I dream of darkness to come
Sleep, will I get some?
A life once sweet and bold
A poisoned meal I’ve been sold
