My new song is out now. Listen to The Sea of Time here: https://hypeddit.com/rasmusfynbo/seaoftime
The song is about the man from Grauballe, which is a famous bog person from Denmark. He was killed and sacrificed to the gods and put in a bog around 290 BC, and when he was dug up, he was very well preserved, but looked like he was made of leather (so don’t go swimming in a bog – it is bad for your skin). When I was in my 20’ties I had a cleaning job at the Museum where he is on display. He felt so lonely, frozen in time behind a glass waiting for the end of time. The song is about his life and death. How he was separated from his loved ones and killed, and now he is patiently waiting for the end of time to be rejoined with his wife. But now, he is floating on an endless sea of time.
Yet again the song is sung by Camila Castellani and this time she even sings in Talago, a language she doesn’t even speak. I wanted the ending of the song to have an exotic and ancient feel so I asked the singer who did the demo to translate it into Talago (its what they speak in the Philipines, and even though it is a modern-day language it is just really exotic to me). Camila amazingly copied the sounds one to one.
Thanks to Per Solgaard (bass and dobro) and Nina Uzelac (Cello).
