As I might have mentioned my new song “Fireflies” is out today and it is a direct continuation of the song Departure, where Zane Patel (the protagonist of Departure) is somehow transported to another realm, where he is seduced (and later in the next song lured to his death) by a fairy (not one of the silly small ones with wings, but an old school one – sexy with a hollow back).
Before Disney, fairytales never had a happy ending.
With Fireflies I wanted to make a more dream like song than what I usually do, but also a mix between trip-hop and folk – something catchy but still relaxing. With a world in ever greater turmoil, I wanted a get away – and stories about summertime love and fairies seemed like a great path to walk down.
Yet again the vocals are carried out by the amazin Camila Castellani from Argentina.
